APPLE COBBLER CAKE 
6 med. size tart apples, pared, quartered, cored & sliced (6 c.)
1 pkg. loaf size yellow cake mix
2 tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
1 stick butter, melted
Light or table cream

Combine apples, sugar and cinnamon in a large bowl. Sprinkle 1/4 cup of dry cake mix over top; toss until apples are evenly coated. Spoon into a buttered baking pan, 8"x8"x2". Cover; bake in moderate oven, 350 degrees, for 30 minutes; remove from oven. Mix remaining cake mix and walnuts in a medium size bowl; drizzle melted butter over top; toss until mixture forms large crumbs. Sprinkle evenly over partly cooked apple mixture. Bake 20 minutes longer or until topping is puffed and golden. Cool slightly. Serve warm with cream. 8 servings.
