CANDIED CINNAMON APPLES 
6 cored apples, peeled
1 1/4 c. sugar
1/2 c. water
1/2 pkg. cinnamon chips (red hots)
4 oz. cream cheese
1/2 c. walnuts, coarsely chopped

Combine wafer, sugar and red hots in saucepan. Cook over medium heat until dissolved, stirring frequently. Pour syrup sauce into baking dish. Add apples and bake until tender, about 40 minutes at 375 degrees. (Turn 1/2 way through baking.) Allow to cool in sauce. Remove from sauce. Fill center of apple with cream cheese and walnuts.
