BREAD & BUTTER PICKLES 
9 quarts cucumbers
2 quarts onions
9 c. water
1 c. non-iodized salt

Mix together. Soak overnight. Bring 6 cups sugar and 5 cups white vinegar to a boil. Add 1 tablespoon of turmeric, celery seed and mustard seed. Add drained and rinsed cucumbers to mixture and bring to boil for about 1 minute. Remove from stove and pack in clean, sterilized jars.
