NO RETURN CHILIE | |
Pkg. of Chili-O sauce mix Pkg. of Sloppy Joe mix 1 to 1 1/2 lbs. ground beef 1 lg. white onion 1 Bermuda onion 2-3 bell peppers 2 lg. cans peeled whole tomatoes 2-3 cans (40 oz.) kidney or pinto beans 12 oz. can tomato paste 1-2 tbsp. sugar Chili powder (see below) Brown meat, drain and place in crock pot. Saute onions and bell peppers and add to crock pot with as little oil as possible. Add packets of Chili-O and Sloppy Joe mix and sugar. Drain beans and add to crock pot. Cut peeled whole tomatoes or crush in hand, add to crock pot, also add tomatoe paste. EXACT QUANTITIES ARE DETERMINED BY SIZE OF CROCK POT. This can be served to anyone, for hotter chili con carne add chilie powder to taste. Caution: Adding extra chilie powder or other forms of hot peppers always serve with plenty of bread. Bread will remove burning oil from mouth and lips as the capsicum (hot component of hot peppers) is oil soluble and water or liquids do not wash it out of mouth. THIS RECIPE IS BETTER AFTER IT HAS BEEN FROZEN. |
