CRANBERRY PIE 
1 baked 9 inch pie shell
3/4 c. granulated sugar
3 tbsp. cornstarch
1/2 tsp. grated lemon rind
1 1/2 tsp. lemon juice
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
Salt
1/4 c. butter
1/2 c. water
4 c. fresh cranberries
Nuts
3 egg whites

Several hours before serving make pie shell. In large saucepan combine 3/4 cup granulated sugar, cornstarch, lemon rind and juice, nutmeg, salt, butter, water, and cranberries. Simmer slowly, uncovered until all cranberries pop. Cool slightly, throw in some nuts. Pour into baked pie shell, refrigerate until set. 1 hour before serving make meringue with egg whites and six tablespoons sugar. If desired whipped cream is also very good.
