3 tbsp. flour
1 c. milk
1/2 c. shortening
1/2 c. butter
1 c. sugar
Vanilla or other flavor

Add flour a spoonful at a time to the milk and cook until thick. Let cool. Mix the shortening, butter and sugar until creamy. Mix all together plus 1-2 teaspoons vanilla or other flavoring. Beat until smooth (about 15 minutes).
