TOM'S CURRIED BROCCOLI SOUP 
2 tbsp. butter
1 tbsp. fresh ginger (minced)
1 tbsp. curry powder
1 lg. onion, sliced
1/2 lb. broccoli
2 sm. pears, peeled and chopped
1 clove garlic
1 c. plain yogurt
Juice of 1/2 lemon
4.c chicken broth

Melt butter in heavy saucepan. Add ginger, garlic, curry powder and onion. Saute briefly. Add broccoli and pears. Stir well. Add broth simmer 30 minutes. Puree in food processor or blender. Stir in yogurt and lemon juice. Serves 6.

This soup is wonderfully delicious and your house will smell like a curry palace for a week.
