DELECTABLE DONUTS 
6 tbsp. shortening
1 1/2 cups sugar
2 tsp. salt
4 eggs
1 1/2 cups milk
2 tsp. vanilla
6 cups all-purpose flour
5 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. nutmeg
confectioners' sugar, for dusting

Cream shortening and sugar. Add salt and eggs; mix well. Add vanilla and stir. Add nutmeg, flour and baking powder. Mix until well blended.

Put half on floured board at a time and roll about 1/4-inch thick. Cut with donut cutter and drop in hot shortening. Brown lightly on both sides. Drain on paper towels and dust with confectioners' sugar.
