GINGER CREAM BARS 
1 c. shortening
1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. ginger
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 egg, beaten
1 c. molasses
1/2 c. milk
3 1/2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. raisins

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cream shortening with sugar, ginger and cinnamon. Add eggs and beat well. Add molasses and milk; blend. Sift flour, soda and salt together. Stir into shortening mixture. Add raisins. Spread evenly, 1/4 inch deep into greased 10 x 15 inch baking sheets (2). Bake 12 minutes. Cook in pan and spread with icing.

ICING:

2 c. powdered sugar
1 tbsp. melted butter
1 tsp. vanilla
2-3 tbsp. cream or milk

Mix together. Add enough milk to obtain spreading consistency.
