CURRIED ASPARAGUS 
1 lb. fresh asparagus
Salt
1/3 c. butter
1/2 c. soft bread crumbs
3 tbsp. all-purpose flour
1/2 to 1 tsp. curry powder
1/8 tsp. pepper
1 1/2 c. milk
1 tsp. instant minced onion

Wash and trim asparagus and cook in boiling salted water until almost tender. Drain and put in greased small shallow baking dish. Melt butter in saucepan. Add 2 tablespoons of crumbs to 1/3 of batter and set aside.

Blend 1/2 teaspoon salt, the flour, curry powder and pepper to remaining butter. Add milk and cook, stirring until thickened. Add onion, pour over asparagus and sprinkle with crumbs. Bake in preheated oven at 425 degrees for 15 minutes.
