ICE BOX FRUIT CAKE 
1 lb. graham crackers
1/4 lb. butter
1 bag marshmallows
1 c. raisins
1 c. chopped pecans
1 lg. bottle red cherries
1 sm. bottle green cherries

Crush crackers; add pecans, raisins, cherries and juice. Melt butter and marshmallows (over water on low heat). Pour over other mixture and mix well. Pack firmly in wax paper.

This looks like the recipe we used to use when I was growing up in the 60s.
I remember crushing the graham crackers and mixing them by hand with the marshmellows, with out melting the marshmellows....it may be easier to halfway melt them though. We never had the cherries to use, and it tasted great without them.....I think this is the recipe I was looking for.....
