WHITE BUTTERMILK CAKE 
1 c. Crisco
2 c. sugar
3 c. white lily flour (sifted)
5 egg whites
1 c. buttermilk
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. almond

Sift flour, salt, soda and baking powder (set aside). Cream Crisco and sugar together. Add egg whites one at a time, blending 1/2 minute after each addition. Add flour and milk alternating, beginning and ending with flour. Add flavoring and blend well. Bake in greased and floured pans (any size desired). Bake at 350 degrees until done.
