FIG-STRAWBERRY PRESERVES 
3 c. mashed figs (about 20 med. figs)
6 oz. pkg. strawberry flavor gelatin
3 c. sugar

Thoroughly mix figs, gelatin, and sugar in a large saucepan. Bring to a boil over medium heat and continue boiling for 3 minutes, stirring occasionally. Pour quickly into glasses. Cover at once with 1/8 inch hot paraffin. Makes 5 cups or about 6 (6 ounce) glasses.

NOTE: If dark figs are used, preserves will be a deep purple color. For lighter preserves, figs may be peeled. Recipe may be halved to fill 3 medium glasses.
