CABBAGE/RED KIDNEY SOUP 
1 lg. onion
16 oz. tomatoes
1 lg. head of cabbage, chopped
1 regular can of red kidney beans
1 tbsp. salt, if desired
1/2 tsp. black pepper
1 tsp. sweet basil
1 tsp. parsley
1 tsp. oregano
1 1/2 to 2 c. uncooked rice

Saute onions and add tomatoes, cabbage, kidney beans and spices. Fill pot 3 inches from top and let come to a boil. Let simmer 1 1/2 hours. Add rice and cook according to rice directions.
