BANANA NUT BREAD 
3/4 c. butter
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 1/2 c. mashed bananas
2 well beaten eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
3/4 c. chopped nuts
2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
3/4 tsp. salt
1/2 c. buttermilk or sour milk

Cream butter and sugar. Blend in bananas, eggs and vanilla. Sift flour, soda and salt. Add to banana mixture alternating with buttermilk. Mix well after each addition. Add nuts. Pour into greased and floured 9 x 5 x 3 inch loaf pan. Bake in 325 degree oven for 1 1/4 hours or until done.
