The Spam melt I like better -- if you grind the Spam first then 8 oz. of American cheese in grinder (or really any kind you have on hand), one onion in grinder also, 3 mushrooms diced up, 1 can cream of mushroom soup -- mix all together and put on hamburger buns or English muffins, put on cookie sheet and bake at 350°F until you see bubbles then put on broiler until nice and golden.

That's exactly how I grew up making ours. We put spam, BellVita cheese and onion through meat grinder. Them mushroom soup. Then simply spread on buns. Leave them open face and broil until brown and bubbly. They kinda look a little burnt but they do not taste burnt. My mother always just called them pizza burgers.
