ELBOW MACARONI AND CHEESE | |
8 oz. elbow macaroni 1/4 c. enriched flour 3 c. milk 1/4 c. butter 1/2 tsp. salt 2 c. grated cheddar cheese Melt butter in large saucepan. Blend in flour and salt. Gradually add milk, stirring constantly; cook until sauce thickens. Add 1/2 cup grated cheese and stir until melted. Cook macaroni in boiling salt water until tender; drain. Add to cheese sauce and mix well. Turn mixture into lightly greased baking dish or pan. Sprinkle top with 1 1/2 cups grated cheese. Bake in moderate oven, 375 degrees about 25 minutes. 4 to 6 servings. |
