CRANBERRY COOKIES 
1 c. granulated sugar
3/4 c. packed brown sugar
1/2 c. butter, softened
1/4 c. milk
2 tbsp. orange juice
1 egg
3 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. baking soda
2 1/2 c. coarsely chopped cranberries
1 c. chopped nuts
Browned Butter Glaze (below), if desired

Heat oven to 375 degrees. Mix sugars and butter. Stir in milk, orange juice and egg. Stir in remaining ingredients except Browned Butter Glaze. Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls about 2 inches apart onto greased cookie sheet. Bake until light brown, 10 to 15 minutes. Cool; spread with glaze. About 5 1/2 dozen cookies.

BROWNED BUTTER GLAZE:

Heat 1/3 cup butter over low heat until golden brown; cool slightly.

Stir in:

2 c. powdered sugar
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla

Beat in 2 to 4 tablespoons hot water until smooth and of desired consistency.
