IRISH SODA BREAD 
3 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. sugar
1 tbsp. butter
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 1/3 c. buttermilk

Blend butter into flour in mixing bowl. Add mixture of salt, soda and sugar. Add buttermilk, mix well with fork, then knead 30 seconds, just enough to smooth the dough. Form into a ball and place in 8 inch round greased pan. Cut slashes on top.

Bake 30 minutes in 400 degree oven.
