1 1/2 c. flour
1/2 c. shortening
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. lemon flavoring
1/4 tsp. salt
1 egg
3/4 c. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. milk

Blend dry ingredients and shortening as in making pie dough. Mix wet ingredients and add to first mixture. Mix thoroughly. Chill dough. Roll into balls and then in sugar. Place on greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 9 to 11 minutes.
