PECAN - CHEESE BALLS 
2 c. very fine saltine crumbs (50, 2" crackers)
1 c. shredded Cheddar cheese
1 c. finely ground pecans
1/2 c. finely chopped onion
6 eggs
1 tsp. garlic powder
1 tbsp. garlic
1 tsp. sage
2 tbsp. oil

In large mixing bowl combine all ingredients except oil. Shape into 24 (1 1/2 inch) balls. Brown in oil in large skillet, 5 minutes or until golden. Remove with slotted spoon, place in single layer in 13 x 9 inch baking pan. Top with Tomato Sauce, cover with foil. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour or until sauce is thick and bubbly. Serves 6.

TOMATO SAUCE:

1 can (15 oz.) tomato sauce
1 can (6 oz.) tomato paste
2 tomato paste cans of water
1/2 c. chopped green pepper
1 tsp. garlic powder
1 tbsp. each oregano & basil

Mix all ingredients well.
