SHORTBREAD COOKIE SALAD 
2 c. buttermilk
2 pkgs. instant vanilla pudding
1 (16 oz.) carton Cool Whip
2 lg. cans mandarin oranges, drained
1 pkg. striped shortbread cookies, broken up
Maraschino cherries (optional)
Walnuts (optional)

Mix buttermilk and pudding together. Fold in Cool Whip, add oranges. Just before serving, add cookies. Add maraschino cherries and walnuts, if desired.
