HOMEMADE SOUP
1 lg. potato, diced
1 med. onion, chopped
1 (16 oz.) can chicken stock
3/4 c. spaghetti pieces or elbow macaroni
1 (16 oz.) can tomatoes, chopped
1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
1 (8 oz.) can water
Salt & pepper

Place diced potato and chopped onion in large saucepan with chicken stock. You may need to add water to cover. Bring to a boil. When potatoes are just tender, stir in spaghetti pieces and boil for approximately 7 to 10 minutes. Add tomatoes with juice, tomato sauce and 1 (8 ounce) can of water. Season to taste. Lower heat to simmer and stir occasionally. Soup should simmer at least 30 to 40 minutes. The longer it simmers, the better the flavor.

This is a great winter supper served with grilled ham and cheese sandwiches.
