GINGER SNAPS 
1 cup sugar
3/4 cups shortening
1 egg
4 tbsp. molasses
1 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. ginger
2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
2 cups all-purpose flour

Cream sugar, shortening. Add egg and molasses. Sift and add cloves, cinnamon, ginger, baking soda, salt and flour. Chill for 20 minutes. Roll in sugar, place on slightly greased cookie sheet.

Bake at 350°F for 10-15 minutes.
