ONION'D GRAVY ROAST 
1 rolled roast (can use any roast beef)
Flour and shortening
2 pkg. generic onion soup (or 1 pkg. Campbells)
1 jar Heinz mushroom gravy
Water
3 beef bouillon cubes

Roll roast in flour. Brown in grease (do not salt). Remove all grease from skillet (I use electric). Place roast back in skillet. Add water and 3 bouillon cubes. Bring to simmer. Add onion soup. Cover and let simmer for 2 1/2 hours. Add water as needed. After 2 1/2 hours add Heinz mushroom gravy. Cover but leave vent on lid open. Watch and add water only if really necessary. Cook 1 1/2 hours more. Will cook down to beautiful brown onion gravy. (Baste meat as it cooks). I always cook a full 4 hours. Absolutely DO NOT salt meat.
