1/2 c. butter
1 tsp. lemon rind
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. sugar
1 egg
2 tbsp. milk
2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda

Blend together butter, sugar, salt and lemon rind. Beat in egg and milk. Stir in flour, baking powder and soda. Form dough into 1 inch balls and place on lightly greased cookie sheet 2 inches apart. Press to flatten each cookie with the bottom of a glass greased and dipped in sugar. Bake at 400 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes.
