NORMAN'S SWEDISH GINGER COOKIES 
1 c. butter
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 egg
1 tbsp. water
1 1/2 tbsp. grated orange peel
2 tbsp. dark corn syrup
3 1/4 c. sifted all-purpose flour
2 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. ginger
1/2 tsp. cloves

Cream butter and sugar; add egg and beat until fluffy. Add orange peel, corn syrup and water and mix well. Sift dry ingredients together; stir into creamed mixture. Chill thoroughly. On lightly floured surface, roll to 1/4 inch thickness. Cut with floured cookie cutters. Place on ungreased cookie sheets. Bake at 375 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes. Cool on rack. Makes about 100 cookies.
