1 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
2 egg yolks
1 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. baking soda
1 3/4 c. flour
1 tsp. vanilla

Mix the above ingredients together with your hands. If dry, add 2 drops of milk. Roll into balls and dip into colored sugar. Place on ungreased cookie sheets and bake at 325 degrees for 10 minutes. When done let cool on cookie sheet for a few minutes before removing.
