GLAZED LEMON BREAD | |
1 1/2 c. all purpose flour 1 tsp. baking powder 1/2 tsp. salt 1/3 c. melted butter 1 c. sugar 2 eggs 1/4 tsp. almond extract 1/2 c. milk 2 tsp. lemon extract Combine baking powder and salt in bowl. In another bowl, stir together melted butter, sugar, eggs, and almond extract. Add flour mixture and milk alternately to sugar mix. Add lemon extract. Pour batter into grerased and floured 8x4x2 inch loaf pan. Bake 55 to 60 minutes at 350 degrees or until tester inserted near center comes out clean. GLAZE: 1 1/2 tbsp. lemon juice 2 tbsp. sugar Mix sugar and lemon juice for glaze and immediately spoon over hot loaf. Cool 10 minutes on wire rack. Remove from pan and continue cooling overnight before slicing. Wrap and store. |
