WILD RICE SOUP 
1/3 c. wild rice
1 tbsp. butter
1/4 c. chopped onion
1/2 c. chopped celery
1/2 c. sliced mushrooms
1/4 c. flour
Salt & pepper to taste
1 1/2 c. milk
1/2 c. chicken stock
1/4 c. grated carrots
1/2 c. bacon, crumbled or diced ham or diced chicken (choose one for flavor)

Cook wild rice until tender. Saute onions, celery, mushrooms in butter. Add flour and cook over low heat for 5 minutes. Add milk, chicken stock and salt and pepper. Mix well to blend flour to smooth texture. Stir in wild rice, carrots and meat flavor of choice. Simmer to thicken.
