PEARS AMARETTI 
8 pears
4 tbsp. melted butter
3 to 4 tbsp. sugar
8 amaretti cookies
3/4 c. dry white wine

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Peel pears and core with an apple corer. Crush the cookies, mix with the melted butter and stuff into the pear cavities. Place pears upright in a baking dish greased with butter. Pour wine over pears and bake until tender, serve plain or with whipped cream or creme fraiche.
