FRIED OKRA 
4 c. fresh cut (1 inch) okra
1 egg, beaten
1/2 to 3/4 c. meal
Salt and pepper to taste
1 c. oil (more may be added if needed)

Dip okra in beaten egg. Roll in mixture of meal salt and pepper. In frying pan, heat oil until almost boiling. Brown in oil. Be careful as they burn easily and require turning. Drain on paper towels and serve.
