DAVE'S CIOPPINO 
1/2 c. chopped green pepper
1/2 c. finely chopped onion
2 cloves garlic, smashed
2 tbsp. olive oil
1 (16 oz.) can petite diced tomatoes w/ juice
1/2 cup (4 oz.) can tomato juice
3 tbsp. parsley flakes
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. dried oregano, crushed
1 tsp. dried basil, crushed
Dash of fresh ground pepper
1 tbsp. or to taste grated bottarga (dried mullet roe)
1 lb. frozen mixed sea food, thawed
1 (7 1/2 oz.) can minced clams
1/2 lb. raw shelled and deveined large (16-20) shrimp tails off
any other sea food you want, squid, octopus, oysters ?
1 cup (8 oz.) clam juice
1/4 tsp. red pepper flakes
8 oz. cooked pasta, gnocchi, rotini, fettuccine, what ever you like

In a large saucepan cook chopped green pepper, onion, and garlic in cooking oil until vegetables are tender but not brown.

Add undrained tomatoes, tomato juice, clam juice, parsley, salt, oregano, basil, pepper flakes, bottarga, and pepper to saucepan.

Bring mixture to a boil. Reduce heat to simmer covered for 20 minutes.

Clean mixed seafood removing any bones. Add to mixture in saucepan. Simmer 5 minutes.

Add undrained clams and shrimp. Continue simmering, covered, about 3 minutes or more or until sea food is tender.

Serve in individual soup bowls over pasta.

Makes 6 servings.
