BLACK BEAN SOUP 
1 lb. pkg. black beans
1 onion
1 tsp. chili powder
1 lemon
2 qt. water
1 qt. tomatoes
1 sm. V-8 juice
1 bouillon cube
1 ham bone

Soak beans for 3 hours. Drain. Add water and ham bone. Simmer for 3 hours. Add tomatoes, onion, chili powder, and the juice from one lemon. Simmer 1 hour.

Add V-8 juice and bouillon cube. Add water if it is too thick. Serve hot.
