MANOK ADOBO 
4 lb. chicken parts
6 tbsp. vinegar
1 bay leaf
2 tbsp. paprika
1 clove garlic, chopped
1 tbsp. salt
1/2 c. water
2 tsp. mixed pickling spices
1 1/2 tsp. black pepper
1 tsp. chopped fresh ginger
1 green pepper, chopped
1 stalk celery, chopped
1 tsp. MSG
1-2 tsp. sherry or brandy flavor

Marinate chicken pieces in a mixture of all other ingredients except sherry for 25 minutes to 1 hour. Then place both chicken and marinade in a frying pan, cover and simmer slowly over medium heat for about 1 hour or until done.

Add a little more water if necessary to augment the amount of liquid. Remove chicken; strain the juice and add the sherry or brandy flavor to make a sauce to serve with the chicken. Serve with Chinese fried rice. Serves 8-10.
