APRICOT BREAD 
1 c. dried apricots (half of 11 oz. pkg.)
1 c. sugar
2 tbsp. shortening
1 whole egg
1/4 c. water
2 c. sifted flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1/4 c. chopped nuts
1/2 c. orange juice (fresh or frozen)

Soak apricots for 30 minutes in warm water enough to cover. Drain and cut into 1/4 inch pieces. Cream sugar and shortening and egg together. Stir in water and orange juice. Stir in sifted dry ingredients. Blend in nuts and apricots.
