3 to 3 1/2 lb. beef stew meat 1 medium onion 6 to 8 large potatoes, peeled and sliced as if for frying 1 can cream of mushroom soup 1 (8 oz.) sour cream 1 1/4 c. milk salt and pepper to taste 8 oz. shredded Cheddar cheese 1 small box cornflakes, crushed You will need an oblong casserole dish. Brown meat. Add onion; cook until onions are tender. Place in bottom of dish. Place potatoes on top of meat. In mixing bowl, add soup, sour cream, milk and salt and pepper. Pour over potatoes. Top with Cheddar cheese. Place cereal on top and bake at 350°F for 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 hours. |
