SAUSAGE BEAN CHOWDER | |
1 lb. bulk sausage (pork) 2 (16 oz.) cans red kidney beans 1 (28 oz.) can chopped tomatoes 1 qt. water 1 lg. onion, chopped 1/2 green pepper, chopped 1 bay leaf 1 c. diced potatoes 1 1/2 tsp. seasoned salt 1/2 tsp. garlic powder 1/8 tsp. pepper 1/2 tsp. thyme Brown sausage well in large pot; drain off fat. Add everything, except green pepper and potatoes. Cook, covered, for 1 hour under low heat. Add potatoes and green pepper. Cook for an additional 15-20 minutes. Remove bay leaf before serving. |
