PIZZA FLAVORED BATTER BREAD | |
2 1/2 c. flour 2 pkgs. active dry yeast 2 tbsp. sugar 1 tsp. salt 1/2 c. milk 1/2 c. water 1/4 c. butter 1 egg 1 tbsp. sesame seeds FILLING: 1/4 c. butter, softened 1/2 tsp. parsley 1/2 tsp. (or more) garlic powder 1/2 tsp. oregano 1 c. Cheddar cheese In large mixing bowl, combine 1 1/2 cups of the flour with yeast, sugar and salt. Mix well. In saucepan, heat milk, water and butter until warm (120-130 degrees; butter does not need to melt). Add liquid mixture to flour mixture. Add egg. Blend at low speed until moistened. Beat 3 minutes at medium speed. Stir in remaining flour by hand to make a stiff batter. Prepare filling: Combine all filling ingredients and mix well. Sprinkle sesame seeds in well greased 12 cup bundt pan. Spread half of batter in pan. Spoon filling over batter. (This will be stiff. Finger works well!) Spread remaining batter over filling. (Batter will cover better as it rises.) Cover pan loosely. Let rise in warm place until double or about 1 hour. Bake at 350 degrees for 35-40 minutes until golden brown. Invert onto serving plate. Cool. |
