BUTTERSCOTCH NUT BARS 
1 1/2 c. flour
1/2 c. butter
3/4 c. brown sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
1 (6 oz.) pkg. butterscotch chips
1/2 c. white corn syrup
1 tbsp. water
2 tbsp. shortening
2 c. salted mixed nuts

Combine flour, butter, brown sugar and salt until crumbly. Press in 9 x 13 pan. Bake 10 minutes at 375 degrees. Combine butterscotch chips, corn syrup, water and shortening in double boiler (or microwave) until smooth. Blend 2 cups mixed nuts in the chip mixture and spoon evenly over bottom layer. Bake 8 minutes at 375 degrees. Cool somewhat but cut while slightly warm.

Since microwave ovens vary in power, you may need to adjust your cooking time.
