MEAT BALLS WITH WINE SAUCE 
1/3 c. brown sugar, packed
8 oz. Contadina tomato sauce
3 tbsp. Real Lemon juice
1/8 tsp. garlic salt
1/2 c. Holland House red wine
1/3 c. grated raw potato
1 lb. ground chuck
1 sm. onion, finely minced
1 egg
1 tsp. salt

Combine sugar, sauce, lemon juice, garlic salt and wine. Bring to boiling, stirring, reduce heat and allow to simmer gently, uncovered until sauce thickens (20 minutes). Combine potato, meat, onion, egg and salt until blended; shape into balls size of large marble.

Arrange on baking pan, put in 500 degree oven for 5 minutes. Remove and add to sauce including any pan juice. Simmer a few minutes. Cool and store. Best made one day before serving. Freezes well. Serve HOT.

Makes approx 6 dozen.
