LAYERED STRAWBERRY JELLO 
2 (6 oz.) pkg. strawberry Jello
1 qt. hot (boiling) water to dissolve
2 pkg. frozen strawberries with juice
2 c. crushed (fine) pineapple, drained

Add strawberries and pineapple to dissolved Jello. Put 1/2 of mixture into 9 x 13 inch pan and let set in refrigerator. After set add next layer: Spread 24 ounce sour cream (allow to soften as first mixture sets). Top sour cream with remaining 1/2 of Jello mixture.

This recipe is similar but is not the same as the one I am looking for. The one I originally had also had bananas sliced in it and walnuts, can't seem to find it anywhere. A neighbor gave it to me in the mid 1960's.
