1 pkg. cake mix, any flavor (I prefer yellow)
1 pkg. (4 serving size) Jello cook and serve pudding any flavor but lemon
1/2 c. confectioners' sugar
2 c. milk
1 tbsp. butter
1 lg. pkg. Cool Whip

Prepare cake mix as directed on package in 13 x 9 inch cake pan. Remove from oven. Immediately poke holes with round handle of a wooden spoon. Holes should be about one inch apart.

ONLY AFTER POKING HOLES, combine pudding and sugar in saucepan. Gradually stir in milk, add butter. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture comes to a full boil.

Quickly spoon hot pudding in holes of cake. If there is any leftover, spoon over top of cake. When cake is cool, top with Cool Whip and coconut. Refrigerate.

Variations: Use banana pudding, and place sliced bananas and vanilla wafers on the cake before spooning in pudding.

Double the recipe in an aluminum roasting pan for large crowds. I have never tried it, but lemon cake and lemon pudding would be good. If lemon pudding is used, replace milk with 2 1/4 cup water and add 1 cup granulated sugar and 2 slightly beaten eggs.
