CAKE: 1 pkg. white cake mix 1 (3 oz.) pkg. strawberry gelatin 2 tbsp. flour 4 eggs 1/2 c. water 1/2 of a 10 oz. box frozen sliced strawberries, thawed 3/4 c. oil Mix first 5 ingredients at medium speed for 2 minutes. Add strawberries including syrup to batter. Beat one minute more. Add oil and beat another minute. Bake in two 9-inch pans at 350 degrees for 35-40 minutes. Cool on racks 10 minutes before removing from cake pans. FROSTING: Beat 1 stick butter until smooth. Add 1 pound confectioners sugar and other half of strawberries. Beat until smooth and add 1/2 teaspoon vanilla. If frosting is too thick, thin with a little milk or cream. |
