ROLL-OUT SHORTBREAD COOKIES | |
1 c. butter 1 egg yolk 1 tsp. almond flavoring 1/3 c. chopped nuts 1/2 c. sugar 2 3/4 c. flour 1 egg white 2 1/2 tbsp. sugar Cream together butter and 1/2 cup sugar; add egg yolk and mix well. Add flour and almond flavoring; mix well. Roll out dough (not too thin). Cut dough into desired shapes; brush top of cookies with egg white. In a small bowl mix together nuts and 2 1/2 tablespoons sugar. Sprinkle on top of cookies. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes. Do not over bake. |
