HOMEMADE CHICKEN AND DUMPLINGS 
1 chicken
3 c. plain flour
1/3 c. Crisco
2 tbsp. milk
Salt & pepper to taste
Chicken broth

Boil chicken until done. Save broth. Debone chicken and cut into bite-size pieces. To make dumplings, mix flour and Crisco together. Moisten dough mixture with cold water and knead into a ball. Roll dough out on a floured counter and cut into strips. Bring chicken broth to a boil and add dumplings. Add enough water to cover dumplings. Cover and cook 30 minutes. Add milk, salt and pepper.
