RED BEANS & RICE 
4 (16 oz.) cans red beans
1/2 c. chopped onions
1 1/2 tsp. garlic salt
1 pkg. smoked sausage, quartered
Water
1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
1 tsp. chili powder
Pepper to taste
2 1/4 c. instant rice

Pour red beans and juice into large kettle. Add tomato sauce, onion, chili powder, garlic salt and pepper. Quarter smoked sausage and add to mixture. Stir well. Simmer on medium heat for 45 minutes. In separate pan, make instant rice for 6 servings using directions on package. When done, add to red beans. Simmer 5 minutes. Serve. Yield: 6 to 8 servings.
