1 stick butter
1 c. sugar
1 1/4 c. sifted flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. baking powder
1 lb. fresh German prunes (washed, halved & pitted)
1 c. cream
Cream sugar and butter. Add sifted dry ingredients (save 1/2 cup of mix). Pat mix into 9 x 9 inch pan and 1 inch up the sides. Arrange halves, rounded side up, on the mixture in the pan. Cover with the saved mix.
Bake for 15 minutes. Beat egg and cream together and pour over prunes. Bake 30-40 minutes or until custard is set. Cool, cut into squares or as you wish and serve. Bake at 375 degrees.
