 Jeanna says:
Taste a lot better with either the frozen shredded or cubed potatoes.

 Eric replies:
Jeanna, you can't make a "tater tot" casserole with shredded or cubed potatoes. This is a "tater tot" casserole. If you want to make a shredded or cubed potato casserole then make one, but don't tell people not to use tater tots.

 Frank replies:
Lighten up Eric, it's the holiday after all, Let Jeanna fix it the way she wants and you fix it the way you want and the rest of us will decide what is best for us. God Bless and have a pleasant day.

 Ken Edwards (Florida) replies:
I'm with Eric, tater tot casserole needs tater tots and ground beef, turkey or pork. Although when I make spaghetti and Meatballs instead of using spaghetti I substitute potato dumplings and instead of using meatballs i use chicken nuggets, like it better that way ;). Just sayin'.

 Carol J Adler (Ohio) replies:
SEMANTICS GYMNASTICS! Spaghetti is pasta and meat is usually ground beef or pork or yes, poultry! I promise if you stick to the original tater tot recipe you will not be disappointed! (but yours is like a "pollo a frits," Ken, dear.) GO COOKS!

 Lorrie (New Brunswick) replies:
Exactly Eric... if she uses the shredded or cubed it then becomes Hashbrown Casserole not Tatertot lol... why do people change ingredients and then post in reviews? Reviews are for ones opinion on a tried results of a posted list of ingredients that the author submitted. If someone changes an ingredient or more... post their own recipe themselves.

 Bert (Arizona) replies:
That's right Eric. What is a tater tot hotdish without tater tots. Don't let these tater tot haters ruin your love of tater tots. Next they will want to leave the chicken out of chicken soup and replace it with lamb. Just saying.
