CRISP OATMEAL COOKIES 
3 c. oats
1 c. brown sugar, firmly packed
1 c. flour
1 c. butter
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 c. boiling water

Mix oats with sugar and flour. Add melted butter and mix well. Dissolve soda in boiling water and add to mixture. On a large sheet of waxed paper, form dough into one or two rolls and chill thoroughly (overnight is best). Slice thin and bake 5-10 minutes in 375 degree oven. Cool slightly, remove with spatula and allow to cool thoroughly before storing.
